Fasig-Tipton brings back sale

Fasig-Tipton, which announced last month that it would not hold its Kentucky October yearling sale, has reversed that decision after feedback from "several October consignors and buyers," according to a release issued Wednesday.

The auction will now take place at Fasig-Tipton's Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Ky., on Oct. 26-28.

"We certainly value the feedback that our customers shared with us," said Fasig-Tipton's chairman, Walt Robertson. "One of the main goals of the company will always be to listen and react to what is important for our customers."

In 2008, the sale grossed $7,471,900 for 553 horses, for an average price of $13,512 and a $5,500 median.
