Fasig-Tipton announces Florida sale date

Fasig-Tipton will host the 2016 Florida 2-year-olds in training sale on Wednesday, March 2 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The sale will be preceded by the under-tack show on Monday, Feb. 29.

“We had an outstanding inaugural sale at Gulfstream Park earlier this year, and we look forward to building on that momentum,” said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. “It is rewarding to see a graduate of the quality of Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity winner Nyquist come out of the first catalog there.

“The facilities at Gulfstream Park, the location and timing are a perfect fit for the highest-averaging two-year-old sale in North America,” Browning continued. “In 2016, we will immediately follow one of the biggest stakes days on the racing calendar, with the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth and the Grade 2 Davona Dale among six graded stakes run there on the Saturday before the sale. It all makes for a very special event for the Thoroughbred industry.”

Nominations for the Fasig-Tipton Florida sale are currently being accepted.
