Falls City winner Envoutante to be rested prior to her 4-year-old campaign

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kenny McPeek ran Envoutante against his likely Eclipse champion Swiss Skydiver one time. That was in the Grade 1 Alabama in mid-August, when Swiss Skydiver won easily and Envoutante was fourth by 11 lengths.
The chasm between the two has probably narrowed, given the progress Envoutante has made in the interim – although it’ll be quite a while before the fillies meet again to determine whether that’s true. Indeed, when McPeek heads to Florida for the winter this coming week, he’ll be in the enviable position as to how he’ll handle a couple of outstanding 4-year-old fillies in 2021.
“They’ll get some down time at Summerfield Farm before we figure out their schedules,” said McPeek, referring to his central Florida headquarters.

Envoutante earned a career-high 100 Beyer Speed Figure with a six-length romp Thursday in the Grade 2 Falls City at Churchill. It was the second straight graded victory for the Uncle Mo filly, following the Grade 3 Remington Oaks in late September. She capped a memorable Thanksgiving Day for McPeek, who upset an earlier race, an $88,807 allowance, with 17-1 shot Jeweled Princess (81 Beyer).
Swiss Skydiver became the leading candidate for a divisional Eclipse with a sensational year that included wins in the Preakness and four other graded stakes.
