"Eye" on Woodbine for January 16 - 21
Monday, January 16
ROCKIN GLASS (CLMHCP15/20000) - Unleashed a monster rally through the lane to win going away and has to be considered for a repeat.
PAST HER EYES (NW3) - Came home quickly from the clouds to nail second.
POUVOIR DUHARAS (nw3) - Was never a thought until the late stages, suddenly appearing out of nowhere. Fleet finish was a neck short but has to be respected.
AAHM A GESTURE (NW1) - Rallied gamely through traffic splitting rivals, but it was too much to ask. Despite being 34-1, he earns a look in next race or two.
WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN (CLM10000) - Was locked on the rail when it counted, managed to squeeze between horses in the final steps with willing finish.
Thursday, January 19
CMR BRESHA (CLMHCP10/12000FM) - Angled out mid-lane, hit overdrive all out and closed fastest on a speed favoring evening but missed.
EMERALD ECLAIR (CLM12000) - Closed best of all from 4th over but ran out of track.
GOOD FOR MORE (NW1FM) - Chased the odds-on favorite home in a 2nd best effort and earns another look facing this kind.
OAKLEE TRACE (CLM12000) - Made an equipment break early on while on the lead over a track favoring speed. Keep in mind for near future.
Friday, January 20
WINE PHOTO (NW2) - Wasn't a thought until early stretch, angled out, hit best stride too late but finished well.
A SPECIAL LADY (NW5000FM) - Closed well from third-over rallying by poor cover.
JDS CALEB MAN (CLMHCP15/20000) - Sat in a tight pocket behind the tiring favorite while seeming to have enough to threaten, but cleared much too late to launch best effort.
LADY LATTE (NW8000) - Yielded for the pocket, had aim, rallied stubbornly but could not stall the bomb exploding on the rail at 52-1. Beaten favorite deserves another look.
Saturday, January 21
RED BUGLER (NW8000) - Beaten favorite was too far back to get it done in last but closed well (:26.4); earns a look in next.
JEPSON HANOVER (NW4) - Motored quickly through the stretch in last to be a game 2nd.
OK BOROMIR (NW15000) - Was used to the lead, set a steady clip and held safely over a tiring track in last. Should be able to be a factor in next race or two.
KEYSTONE SWAGGER ((NW5000) - Left, tucked, sat a three-hole and was easily next best as the two well-bet favorites battled to the wire.
