“Eye” on Meadowlands for January 19 - 21

Derick Giwner|Jan 24, 2012

Thursday, January 19

BIG SKY HURRIKANE (SUPER BOWL) – Set sizzling fractions while dueling for the lead and held reasonably well.

Friday, January 20

FALL BLISS (CLYDE HIRT) – You won’t see it on his past performance lines, but this guy had the lead after an eighth of a mile only to get shuffled back to the four hole. In the stretch he had to wait for room to stretch his legs and he finished up very willingly.

SPECIAL T ROCKS (CLYDE HIRT) – Never saw the rail and just kept finding more in a very impressive score.

YANKEE MANNY (NW10000) – Was trying to close up the cones but ran into traffic and appeared to have something left while finishing under a hold.

THE LIFE BOAT (15000CLM) – Challenged first-over and dug in gamely right through the wire.

Saturday, January 21

NATHAN FEELSGOOD (COMPLEX) - This guy showed a nice move before tiring. That was a step in the right direction. Looks like he could to drop into a NW $10,000 next week.

KEEP GOING (COMPLEX) - Was locked in the pocket and didn't get clear until late. He finished up willingly in a :26.3 final quarter. I can see him upsetting in the final.

(Previous horses which have yet to race)

Friday, January 6

NOTORIOUS BLUESTONE (NW10000) – Was off 23 days prior to this start. He swung wide from last off the final turn and rallied home with steady trot. He had no shot.

Thursday, January 12

RELENTLESS G (NW2) - Gelding was the only wire to wire winner on the 10-race card.

Friday, January 13

SUSQUEHANNA BELLE (NW10000) - Saved ground and wasn't asked until two-thirds of the way down the lane. She trotted home willingly up the cones and gets to drop down to the basement next time; interesting.

HEZ DA MAN N (7500CLM) - Was caught in a tough spot behind tired horses and didn't fire right away when clear, but found his best in mid-stretch and seemed to appreciate the added distance. I'd be tempted to play this guy from a better post with a catch-driver.
