Canadian champion Eye of the Leopard will relocate to Osborne Farm in Cambridge, Minn., where he will stand for an advertised fee of $1,500 for the 2018 breeding season. The 12-year-old son of A.P. Indy previously resided at Calumet Farm in Lexington, Ky., where he was advertised for $2,500. Eye of the Leopard has sired three crops of racing age, with 13 winners and combined progeny earnings of $345,357. His highest earner is Divine Kitten, a two-time winner who has made $56,149. On his own accord, Eye of the Leopard won five of 24 career starts for earnings of $920,517. He was named Canada’s champion 3-year-old male of 2009 on the strength of a campaign that included victories in the Queen’s Plate Stakes and Plate Trial Stakes, and a third in the Prince of Wales Stakes. Later campaigns saw him place twice in the Valedictory Stakes at Woodbine, once as a Grade 3 race. Bred in Ontario by Sam-Son Farm, Eye of the Leopard is out of the Canadian champion Smart Strike mare Eye of the Sphynx, whose five winners from six runners also include Grade 2 winner Deceptive Vision and Grade 2-placed stakes winner Hotep, both by A.P. Indy. The extended family includes Canadian Horse of the Year Quiet Resolve. Discounts will be available for multiple mare packages and quality mares.
