Coady Photography Mr. Jagermeister was a 1 3/4-length winner in Saturday's Chesapeake Stakes at Colonial Downs.

Extravagant Kid brought the best credentials into the $75,000 Da Hoss at Colonial Downs on Saturday night and ran like it, cruising to a length win over favorite Justaholic. It was another length back in third to Dubini.

The Da Hoss, for 3-year-olds and up at 5 1/2 furlongs on turf, was one of two stakes on the card. Mr. Jagermeister captured the $100,000 Chesapeake.

Extravagant Kid ($6.20), who was winning his sixth stakes in the Da Hoss, entered off a runner-up finish in the Grade 1 Highlander at Woodbine. He was content to stalk the pace set by American Sailor, who was clear through an opening quarter in 21.45 seconds. Extravagant Kid advanced through a half-mile in 43.80 seconds, moved to the fore in the stretch, and went on to cover the distance on a firm turf in a quick 1:02.08.

“He made a really nice move around the far turn,” Sheldon Russell, who was aboard for trainer Brendan Walsh, said on the simulcast feed from Colonial.

Mr. Jagermeister won the sixth stakes race of his career in the Chesapeake, when he set a pressured pace and prevailed by 1 3/4 lengths over Lewisfield. It was another 4 3/4 lengths back to Speightsong in third.

Mr. Jagermeister ($4.20), who was making his first start since an Oaklawn allowance win in April, took the field through an opening quarter in 22.35 seconds and a half-mile in 45.19, pushed along by Old Time Revival. Mr. Jagermeister shook his pace rival and went on to cover six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.69.

“He did it so comfortable,” Leandro Goncalves, who was aboard for trainer Valorie Lund, said on the simulcast feed from Colonial.

Mr. Jagermeister is a son of Atta Boy Roy who races for Lund, Kristin Boice and Leslie Cummings.
