Extra half-million in Del Mar pick six pool

DEL MAR, Calif. - There are two carryovers at Del Mar on Saturday - a massive pick six carryover of $540,093 and a $43,634 carryover in the Super High Five.

The $2 pick six covers the fifth through 10th races on a program that begins at 2 p.m. Pacific. The $1 Super High Five, which requires bettors to correctly select the first five finishers of the last race, will be run at approximately 6:35.

There are few scratches in the pick six. In the eighth race, Instant Action and Street Lights have been withdrawn from an allowance race at 6 1/2 furlongs.

In the featured San Clemente Handicap, Comeback Queen is withdrawn from the also-eligible list. In the last race, the Super High Five race, Crown of Splendor and Cat Report have been withdrawn.

There are few standouts in Saturdays pick six races, leaving the possibility of a sizable payout. In the fifth race, a starter allowance at six furlongs, Stormy Game is the 2-1 morning-line favorite, and breaks from the outside post in a field of 10.

In the seventh race, a six-furlong race for 2-year-olds, Speight the Halo is the 5-2 morning-line favorite, following his second in his debut at Hollywood Park in June. The third-place finisher in that race, Street Hero, is another leading contender. Chocolate Candy, unplaced in his debut in May, is an outsider worth considering.

In the featured San Clemente Handicap, Misty Ocean will try for her fourth consecutive win in the one-mile race for 3-year-old fillies. She has drawn the outside post in a field of 10. Missit, who won the one-mile Providencia Stakes at Santa Anita in April, has drawn the rail and has an excellent chance.
