Exbury four face new test

Samando, Lord du Sud, Pont d'Or, and Levitski, the closely bunched first four home in the Group 3 Prix Exbury at Saint-Cloud on March 10, renew rivalry in the $155,000 Group 2 Prix d'Harcourt over the same 1 1/4-mile distance at Longchamp on Sunday.

The preference, however, is for a new face: Delfos, a son of Green Tune trained by Carlos Laffon-Parias. Delfos won the Group 3 Prix du Prince d'Orange over the Harcourt course and distance in his last outing, on Sept. 18.

With the exception of his 12th-place finish in the Prix du Jockey-Club last June, Delfos has finished first or second in all eight of his lifetime starts, among them a victory in the Group 3 Prix La Force.

Samando defeated Lord du Sud by a head in the Exbury, which was run in heavy ground similar to what the Harcourt starters will experience on Sunday.
