Everything Lovely returns to allowance company
Everything Lovely ran better in the Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship than her third-place finish suggests. On Saturday, she will be a solid favorite when she returns in a first-level allowance for 3-year-old fillies at her home base of Parx.
Everything Lovely has shown a lot of ability in her four career starts for trainer Kathleen DeMasi but only has a single win to show for it. That likely will change Saturday.
In her first three races, Everything Lovely finished second by a neck to Rockin Jojo, won by 6 3/4 lengths, and then was second, beaten a half-length by Darling Sky, in an allowance.
Rockin Jojo has since won the Blue Mountain Juvenile Fillies at Penn National and been third in the Maryland Million Lassie, while Darling Sky has finished second in the $100,000 Gin Talking Stakes at Laurel. They finished fifth and seventh, respectively, in the Marshua Stakes at Laurel on Thursday.
In her most recent start, Everything Lovely tracked the pace in the seven-furlong Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship, easily took jockey Kendrick Carmouche to the lead at the quarter pole, and drew several lengths clear in upper stretch. She was overtaken late by 23-1 longshot Spotted Heart and nipped for second by a nose. Her premature move to the front likely cost her the race.
