Ever Dangerous's debut win a pleasant surprise to Weaver
Ever Dangerous kicked off his career in style Thursday at Gulfstream Park, winning a 1 1/16-mile turf race by four lengths at odds of 14-1 for trainer George Weaver and owners Randy Hill and Dean and Patti Reeves.
Ever Dangerous is a son of Kitten’s Joy out of a Rahy mare, The Rahy Angel. His third dam produced Grade 1 stakes winners Dimitrova and Mutafaweq.

“The horse is bred to be okay on the grass,” Weaver said. “We didn’t know he was going to do that. It didn’t look like the saltiest maiden race, but for him to run the way that he did was very impressive to me.”
Weaver said he’s hoping to get the opportunity to stretch Ever Dangerous out in distance once New York’s series of turf races for 3-year-olds gets going.
“I have seen nothing in his training to indicate to me he’s going to have any distance limitations,” Weaver said. “Whether he wants a mile and a half or farther I don’t know, but I have no reason to think he can’t get a mile and an eighth, mile and a quarter.”
