Evangeline: Taylor set for more success

Trainer Heath Taylor, who leads the nation in money earned at more than $4 million, is poised to add to that sum when he sends out fastest qualifier MDT Streetfighter in the Grade 1, $286,700 Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity on Sunday night at Evangeline Downs.

Taylor has had a sensational year with his 2-year-old division. Stolis Winner won the Grade 1, $1 million Heritage Place Futurity to lead a one-two-three sweep by horses from his barn. Stolis Winner then won the Grade 1, $625,000 Rainbow Futurity and the Grade 1, $1.9 million All American Futurity. Zoomin Jess finished second in the Heritage Place Futurity and third in the All American Futurity for Taylor.

Taylor set for more success is primed for a Grade 1 stakes win in the LQHBA Futurity off his two wins from two starts. He won at first asking on April 18, then resurfaced on Sept. 13 to win his 350-yard LQHBA Futurity trial by 2 1/4 lengths in 18.111 seconds.
