The New Jersey Racing Commission has denied requests by five harness racing licensees who are at the center of a blood-doping investigation involving horses trained by Seldon Ledford to have their multiyear suspensions stayed pending an appeal. The licensees, four of whom have been arrested, will now have to to appeal their suspensions in state court in order to return to racing. . . . Pisgah, trained by Scott Lake, broke a 26-year-old track record when he ran six furlongs in 1:07.92 in Tuesday's seventh race at Delaware Park. Damitrius set the previous record of 1:08.20 in 1980. . . . Apprentice Denis Rojas was treated and released from a Chicago-area hospital Tuesday after breaking a rib when he was tossed and fallen on by his mount approaching the gate for Tuesday's fifth race at Hawthorne Race Course.
