Fasig-Tipton's two-day Texas summer yearling sale started Monday with an early six-figure horse when Hip No. 8, an Orientate-Via Dei Portici filly consigned by James Helzer (JEH Stallion Station, agent), sold for $130,000 to Terry Blanton. That was the highest price as of 4:30 p.m. Eastern for the sale, which was being held at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. . . . A thunderstorm that dropped heavy rain and hail on the area prompted the Columbus Races in Nebraska to cancel after the first race on Sunday. Two divisions of the Columbus Breeders' Special handicap were rescheduled for Friday. . . .
