Roses in May, winner of the $6 million Dubai World Cup this year, will head to Shigeyuki Okada's Big Red Farm on Hokkaido for his stud career, according to trade reports. The colt's owners, Ken and Sarah Ramsey, sold breeding rights to him earlier this year but said then that the Japanese owner did not wish to be identified. . . . The Chaplaincy Program at Charles Town Races and Slots, in conjunction with the local Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association, West Virginia jockeys, and the track, raised more than $75,000 on Aug. 13 to help support Shannon Campbell, a jockey paralyzed in a July 9 spill at Charles Town. More than $35,000 came from race patrons at donation booths set up on the track's apron.
