Connecticut legal officials have ordered eBet USA, a horse race account-wagering service owned by Penn National Gaming Inc., to stop taking bets over the Internet from state residents, and the company has complied, according to a notice posted on eBet's Internet site. The notice said that eBet would continue to take bets from Connecticut customers over the telephone. . . . Ballet de France, a former Virginia broodmare of the year and the dam of Group 1 winner and Irish and Italian champion Muhtarram, was euthanized at age 24 at Dinwiddie Farm in Middleburg, Va., on Aug. 5, the Thoroughbred Daily News has reported.
