Michigan's racing commissioner on Friday authorized any licensed race meet in the state to offer 10-cent superfectas. The office cited attracting casual fans and promoting simulcast signals from the state's tracks as reasons to approve the wager. . . . A senate bill in Oklahoma has passed that expands the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission from seven members to nine, and calls for the additional members to be "horse-industry experienced." Gordon Hare, executive director of the OHRC, said the bill also provides for Oklahoma commissioners to be able to race horses at tracks in Oklahoma. . . . Canterbury Park has promoted Eric Halstrom to vice president of racing and simulcasting. Halstrom will oversee all simulcasting, publications, security, and mutuels activity.
