The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders' Sale Co. will offer 175 lots, including 94 horses from the John Franks estate, at its April 13 spring sale in Lafayette, La. The Franks consignment, to be handled by Carousel Bloodstock, features primarily yearlings and mares, as well as the stallions Western Trader, a stakes-winning earner of more than $720,000, Gold Alert, Gold Cure, Ibelongtobelle, Quadrophonic Sound, Virginia Carnival, Native Regent, and Byars. . . . The exercise rider injured Monday in a training-hours accident at Turfway Park was scheduled for additional surgery Wednesday. The rider, Clyde Bramble, who had surgery Tuesday to reattach an arm, was in critical but stable condition Wednesday.
