Haunted Lass ($4) cruised to a 1 3/4-length victory over four rivals in Monday's $75,000 Everget Stakes. Under Jockey Mike McCarthy, Haunted Lass circled four wide leaving the turn to gain the lead at the top of the stretch and continued on strongly to the wire, covering six furlongs in 1:11.55 over a wet-fast track for trainer Allen Iwinski. . . . Dan Lilley, 54, an owner, trainer and outrider over the past 30 years, died at his home in Lake Orion, Mich., on Saturday following a battle with cancer. Lilley is survived by his brother Dwayne and longtime companion and partner, Pam Barnes. . . .The Alberta Racing Corporation's appeal tribunal has withdrawn a ruling that would have awarded the full winner's share of a July 14 race at Northlands Park to both Robnroy and River Wild after a protest by the Alberta division of the Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association, from whose purse pool the extra payment would have come. The tribunal reinstated Robnroy as the sole winner while letting the original order of finish stand.
