A memorial service for former jockey and racing official Jimmy Nichols, who died Thursday, will be held in the racing office building at Lone Star Park at 1 p.m. Central on Tuesday. . . . Turfway Park canceled live racing on Friday after an additional two inches of snow fell overnight, further compromising an already-saturated track. The track, which has missed 13 days of live racing since its winter-spring meet began Jan. 1 because of harsh winter weather, planned to resume Saturday. . . . Friday night's live racing was canceled at Charles Town, the 11th consecutive program that has been wiped out because of either winter weather or poor track conditions. . . . The Trackmen Golf Club's winter outing will be held Tuesday, March 4, at the Westin Diplomat Country Club in Hallandale Beach, with trainer Kenny McPeek and jockey Jorge Chavez expected to participate.
