Trainer Ken McPeek and his wife, Sue, received the Big Sport of Turfdom Award on Monday from the Turf Publicists of America. The organization cited their cooperation and openness in dealing with the media last year. . . . Churchill Downs racetrack has been honored by Greater Louisville Inc. with its Silver Fleur-De-Lis Award. The award is presented annually by Louisville's Metro Chamber of Commerce to area companies and individuals who have made significant contributions to the community during the previous year.
