Great Lakes Downs in Muskegon, Mich., has requested a 118-day Thoroughbred meet from the State of Michigan's officer of racing for 2003. The proposed meet would run from April 26 through Oct. 28, almost exactly the same as this year's Great Lakes meet. . . . Hall of Fame trainer John Nerud will be the host of the 22nd annual New York Horsemen's Golf Tournament on Oct. 8 at the Sands Point Golf Club in Sands Point, N.Y.
