Arlington Park and the National Steeplechase Association have canceled two steeplechase races scheduled for Sept. 15 - a $50,000 stakes and $25,000 maiden race - after the races failed to fill. Only four nominations were received for the stakes race, and only six entries were received for the maiden race, Arlington officials said. . . . The newly created $500,000 race for 2-year-olds on Dec. 21 at Delta Downs in Vinton, La., will be called the Delta Jackpot, said Chris Warren, the track's director of racing. The race is to be run at a mile. . . . Patti Cooksey became the first female rider to be inducted into the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame on Monday night in Louisville. Cooksey is the leading active female rider, with 2,120 victories, and is second in wins among female jockeys to Julie Krone.
