Racetracks in Japan offered exacta and trifecta betting for the first time over the weekend of July 13-14, resulting in a 6 percent gain in handle compared with the same weekend last year. A construction accident Wednesday at Churchill Downs cut off electrical power at the track and its wagering hub. Betting at the Churchill-owned Ellis Park was halted for 35 minutes. . . . The company that supplies race-replay kiosks to racetracks has launched an online race-replay site. The site, racereplays.com, will provide subscribers who pay $9.95 a month with access to archived races from a number of participating tracks, including the tracks owned by Churchill Downs Inc.
