End Sweep will miss his planned southern hemisphere breeding season this year because of a serious injury to his withers, Australia's Arrowfield Stud announced Wednesday. End Sweep, the sire of such Grade 1 winners as Swept Overboard, Trippi, Nany's Sweep, and Dark Ending, topped juvenile sires in 1998 with a North American record of 33 winners in his first crop to race. . . . Tashawak thrust herself into the fore of the European 3-year-old filly scene with an impressive victory in the Group 2 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday. Tashawak, the 5-2 favorite, ran the straight, undulating mile in 1:38.50 to record her fourth victory in a row.
