A hearing scheduled for Thursday by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board to consider levying as much as $165,000 in fines against owner Ernie Paragallo and a lifetime revocation of his racing license was postponed because of a scheduling conflict, according to Joe Mahoney, a spokesman for the board. No new hearing date has been scheduled for Paragallo, who was convicted on 33 counts of animal cruelty, sentenced to two years in jail, but released on bail last week pending appeal. . . . Jockey Gary Stevens, inducted into the National Museum of Racing's Hall of Fame in 1997, will be the keynote speaker at this year's Hall induction ceremony on Friday, Aug. 13. . . . Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga select auction will have 202 yearlings in its catalog this year, down 33 from last year's sale, the company announced Thursday. The auction in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., will take place Aug. 2-3. . . . Marquetry, pensioned last month at Stonewall Stallions Ocala, will spend the rest of his retirement at the Old Friends equine retirement facility in Georgetown, Ky., Old Friends founder Michael Blowen said. Marquetry, a 23-year-old Conquistador Cielo horse, is the sire of 1999 sprint champion Artax and 2001 sprint champion Squirtle Squirt.. . . Will's Way will relocate to the Old Friends retirement facility near Saratoga Springs, N.Y. A 17-year-old Easy Goer horse, Wills Way won the 1996 Travers and 1997 Whitney at Saratoga.
