Australia's Magic Millions national yearling sale concluded its final select session Wednesday with a session-topping price of about $146,930 for a Bel Esprit-Boondock filly that Romi Karam purchased. The two select sessions sold 299 horses for about $9,583,912, resulting in an average price of about $32,053. Those figures were well up from last year's auction on Australia's Gold Coast. . . . Kentucky horsemen and consignors have formed a memorial fund to aid the children of exercise rider, sale-horse showman, and Crossroads Farm employee Philippe Zanotti , who died in a car wreck June 9 at age 44.
