Jockey Frank Alvarado avoided serious injury Wednesday after his mount ducked into the rail in the stretch of a turf race at Bay Meadows. Alvarado, who suffered a mild concussion and had abrasions and contusions on both thighs, took off his mounts Thursday and Friday and will possibly be sidelined until Wednesday. . . . A weanling colt by Oasis Dream was the top-priced lot Thursday when he sold for about $518,700 at the third of the Tattersalls December auction's five foal sessions in Newmarket, England, going to Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum's Shadwell Estate Co. from Trickledown Stud. The session saw sharp gains over last year, selling 169 weanlings for about $12,244,313, up 7 percent from last year's equivalent session, with the average price of approximately $72,452 up 45 percent and the median of about $53,865 up 32 percent. . . . Millennium Farms near Lexington, Ky., has announced that Even the Score, Littleexpectations, and Shaniko will each stand in 2007 for $7,500. The farm's other two stallions, Woke Up Dreamin and Scrimshaw, will stand in 2007 for $6,500 and $5,000, respectively. . . .
