Estilo Talentoso leads all the way in Escena

With Crumb Bun chasing, Estilo Talentoso took them all the way in the $60,000 Escena Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Sunday. She paid $8.80 for her game win over Crumb Bun in the one-mile race for fillies and mares.

Ridden by Edgard Zayas. Estilo Talentoso held a one-length advantage over Crumb Bun after a half-mile in 46.93 seconds. The pair hooked up at the six-furlong mark and dueled the rest of the way with Estilo Talentoso edging clear late. Crumb Bun appeared to put her head in front just after they straightened out turning for home, but the winner fought back and posted a final winning margin of one length. Bella Ciao, who never looked like a threat, came from a stalking position to finish third.

The final time was 1:35.68.

It was the second win from nine career starts for Estilo Talentoso, who has never finished worse than third. The $36,828 winner’s share of the purse brought her earnings to $109,038.

The 3-year-old daughter of Maclean’s Music races for and is trained by Juan Arriagada.
