Eric Fein buys back Ostrolenka to retire him

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Ostrolenka, a multiple New York-bred stakes winner, was recently purchased privately by his original owner, Eric Fein, to be retired. He will reside at the Old Friends retirement facility in Lexington, Ky, confirmed Michael Blowen of Old Friends.
Fein purchased Ostrolenka privately following his fifth-place finish a $12,500 claiming race at Aqueduct on Nov. 28.
Ostrolenka, a son of Musket Man, raced 21 times for Fein and trainer Todd Pletcher, winning five including the Sleepy Hollow at age 2 and the Mike Lee at age 3.
Claimed by David Jacobson for $62,500 in January 2017, Ostrolenka won the $150,000 Hudson Stakes in October 2017. He lost his last 12 starts, making his last five for David Cannizzo.
Ostrolenka retires with a record of 7-9-5 from 43 starts and earnings of $662,449.
◗ There were eight races Sunday at Aqueduct, and two jockeys combined to win seven of them.
Dylan Davis went 4 for 8, which helped put an emphatic end to an 0 for 29 skid. Davis, the second-leading rider at the 2018 Aqueduct winter meet, will be riding here all winter.
Luis Reyes went 3 for 6 Sunday, including two wins for trainer Michelle Nevin, who won three races on Sunday’s card. Reyes is also expected to ride here all winter.
Jose Lezcano won the only other race on Sunday’s card.
