Eramia to ride at Fair Grounds when Remington meet ends

Jockey Richard Eramia, who had four wins last Saturday night at Remington Park, will head to Fair Grounds after the Oklahoma City season closes Dec. 11, he said on Wednesday.
The move to Remington has been a circuit change for Eramia, who traditionally rides some at Delta Downs in the fall following the close of Louisiana Downs, and then shifts his tack full time to Fair Grounds.
“I had a month and a half between Louisiana Downs and New Orleans and I wanted to keep working,” Eramia said. “I decided to go to Remington because it’s only 3 1/2 hours from my house [in Dallas] and I wanted to spend more time with my kids. Delta is farther, six hours away.”
Eramia will have a new agent when he heads to Fair Grounds this year as his longtime representative, Rick Mocklin, has retired. The pair teamed together for about seven or eight years, through multiple titles at Louisiana Downs.
“I love the guy,” Eramia said. “I miss him. He retired last month.”
Steve Leving will represent Eramia at Fair Grounds.
Eramia has made a splash at Remington, having won 39 races since arriving in late September, good for fourth in the standings behind leader Ramon Vazquez.
