Equibase names new president

Equibase Company LLC, the Thoroughbred data collection agency, has named Philip T. O'Hara Jr. as its president and chief executive officer.

O'Hara takes the post previously filled by John C. Ertmann, who resigned in October after 18 months on the job.

After serving in numerous management positions at Penn National Race Course and Penn National Gaming Inc. from 1985 to 2000, O'Hara has been a racing industry consultant for the past three years.

O'Hara is expected to start the Equibase job in early May.
