Epicharis, Senior Investment work for Belmont Stakes

ELMONT, N.Y. - Epicharis and Senior Investment both turned in workouts on Tuesday morning at Belmont Park in preparation for the Belmont Stakes on Saturday.
Epicharis, the Japanese invader, was timed by Daily Racing Form going five furlongs on the training track in 1:06.03, but he went off very slowly for the opening quarter-mile and then finished quickly through the lane, with his final three furlongs in 37.07 seconds while working by himself.

After the work, Epicharis walked extensively at the quarantine barn, then went to the paddock for a schooling session, which included a trip through the tunnel to the main track, mirroring the path he will take on Saturday afternoon prior to the race.
A bit earlier in the morning, on the main track, Senior Investment went an easy half-mile in 50.11 seconds. He was third in the Preakness Stakes last time out.
Later Tuesday, Classic Empire, the likely favorite for the Belmont, was scheduled to arrive from Kentucky.
