Enticed draws rail in field of 11 for Holy Bull Stakes

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Enticed, the winner of the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes last November, will break from post 1 when making his 2018 debut Saturday at Gulfstream Park in a field of 11 3-year-olds in the 29th running of the Grade 2, $350,000 Holy Bull Stakes.
Seventeen Kentucky Derby qualifying points, including 10 to the winner, are at stake in the 1 1/16-mile Holy Bull, which will be the last of 12 races on a Saturday card that starts at noon Eastern. Post time for the Holy Bull will be about 5:49.
Joel Rosario has picked up the mount on Enticed, a Godolphin homebred by Medaglia d’Oro.
Tiz Mischief, a fast-closing second in the KJC, is one of four horses entered in the Holy Bull by Dale Romans, although the trainer said he probably will only run three. Tiz Mischief and Bandito likely go, while either Free Drop Billy or Hollywood Star could be scratched to wait for the Feb. 10 Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.
From the rail and with jockeys, this is the lineup for the Holy Bull: Enticed, Rosario; Free Drop Billy, Luis Saez; Master Manipulator, Jose Ortiz; Audible, Javier Castellano; Bandito, Edgard Zayas; Hollywood Star, Irad Ortiz Jr.; Tiz Mischief, Robby Albarado; Pony Up, John Velazquez; Tip Sheet, Emisael Jaramillo; Aequor, Jose Lezcano; and Mississippi, Julien Leparoux.
The Holy Bull is the last of five graded stakes, all for 3-year-olds, to be run here Saturday. Here is a quick look at the others:
Grade 3, $100,000 Dania Beach (race 11, 5:16): Untamed Domain, the runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, figures as a solid favorite in a field of 10 going a mile on turf. Jose Ortiz has the mount from post 6 for West Point Thoroughbreds and trainer Graham Motion.
Grade 3, $200,000 Forward Gal (race 10, 4:43): Take Charge Paula, a three-time stakes winner, will make her first start since being sold privately when facing Miss Mo Mentum and six other fillies in this seven-furlong race.
Grade 3, $100,000 Sweetest Chant (race 6, 2:30): A couple of French-bred fillies, Thewayiam and Salsa Bella, could vie for favoritism when facing seven others in this one-mile turf race.
Grade 3, $200,000 Swale (race 4, 1:30): Diamond King, a winner in three of four starts, was assigned the rail in a field of six for this seven-furlong race and will be challenged by fellow stakes winners Tricks to Doo, Gotta Go, and Piven.
