Michael Burns Endless Light will start in Sunday's Grade 3, $150,000 Ontario Fashion Stakes at Woodbine.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Endless Light seemingly had her first graded stakes score in her grasp before getting nosed out at the wire in the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes on Aug. 8. She’ll be looking for redemption in Sunday’s Grade 3, $150,000 Ontario Fashion Stakes over six furlongs on Polytrack at Woodbine.

Endless Light comes into the Ontario Fashion after scratching out of the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes against males Sept. 13.

“Unfortunately, she had to scratch on Woodbine Mile Day because she came up with a temperature, so we missed a race and missed some time,” said trainer Mark Frostad. “She’s come back, and hopefully she’ll run a good race.”

Endless Light recorded a win over Hillaby in the Sweet Briar Too Stakes on July 1 and has finished second three times during her 2015 campaign after moving to Frostad’s barn this season from England. Frostad said Endless Light has settled in nicely at Woodbine.

“She’s been doing very well,” he said. “She seems to have adapted to racing very well over here.”

KEY CONTENDERS

Endless Light (Last 3 Beyers: 91-95-76)

◗ She possesses good tactical speed, but she’ll likely be sitting just off the lead in the early strides with speedsters Tahnee and Harp N Halo in the field. Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson, who was aboard for her last win in the Sweet Briar Too, gets the mount.

Unspurned (Last 3 Beyers: 69-89-84)

◗ She showed brief speed before fading late in the Sweet Briar Too and has not raced since then. She did win the Grade 3 Whimsical Stakes off the bench this year and shows good workout times in preparation for this start for trainer Roger Attfield.

Harp N Halo (Last 3 Beyers: 87-82-69)

◗ She extended her winning streak to five in the Avowal Stakes on turf here Sept. 7 after dueling through quick early fractions. She’s never tried Polytrack and likely will have company on the lead from Tahnee.

Cactus Kris (Last 3 Beyers: 83-87-87)

◗ She was third behind Marbre Rose and Endless Light in the Grade 3 Seaway while making the first start of her form cycle.

◗ She’s since had two starts at Presque Isle Downs, including a close fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Masters.

◗ She rallied to win the Ruling Angel Stakes on Polytrack here last year and would benefit from a speed duel in front of her.
