Emily’s Bullet became a stakes winner Friday night when she darted to a 4 3/4-length win over favorite Diamond Deal in the $100,000 Louisiana Jewel at Delta Downs.

It was another length back in third to Tommie G.

The race for fillies was one of two stakes on the card for 2-year-olds bred in Louisiana.

Emily’s Bullet ($7.40) tracked fractions of 23.45 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.69 for the half-mile and 1:14.52 for six furlongs. She went on to cover the seven-furlong distance, run around two turns on a fast track, in 1:27.78.

Vicente Del-Cid was aboard for trainer Chasey Deville Pomier.

Pomier also co-owns Emily’s Bullet with Gerald Bruno Jr. and Our Blue Streaks Stable. The daughter of Gormley has won 2 of 5 starts for earnings of $93,260.

Strong Promise had his number put up in the $100,000 Louisiana Legacy following the disqualification of first-place finisher Good and Stout.

Good and Stout finished a 1 1/2 in front of runner-up Strong Promise, but after the race the riders of Strong Promise and pacesetter Stovall claimed fouls against Good and Stout for interference, according to the race's chart. The stewards disqualified Good and Stout and placed him seventh. Good and Stout covered the seven furlongs in 1:27.33.

The elevation of Strong Promise ($2.20) kept his record perfect, as he is now 4 for 4. His last three starts have come in stakes and he now has earnings of $215,400.

Strong Promise sat just off the pace by Stovall, who took the field through an opening quarter in 23.31 seconds. Strong Promise continued to track as Good and Stout led through a half-mile in 48.35 seconds and six furlongs in 1:14.05.

Casey Fusilier was aboard Strong Promise for Norman Stables and trainer Jayde Gelner. Strong Promise is a son of Broken Vow.

Racing resumes Saturday night.
