Elser, consignor's son, killed

Christopher Elser, the 20-year-old son of prominent consignor Kip Elser of Kirkwood Stables, died Sunday night after being stabbed by an intruder in a Baltimore apartment building.

The stabbing occurred at about 6 a.m. Saturday in a building rented by Elser's fraternity at Johns Hopkins University. On Monday, police had no suspects.

In addition to his father, Elser is survived by his mother, Rhetta Elser, and a sister, Taylor Elser. A memorial service was scheduled for April 23 at 10 a.m. at Springdale Race Course in Camden, S.C.
