Ellis moves Friday card to Monday, shuffles start times due to heat

Coady Media Ellis's weekend cards will begin at 10 a.m. Central, while Monday’s will start at 11:50.
Ellis Park will move its racing program scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14, to Monday, Aug. 17, and push up the start times for cards this Saturday and Sunday to mid-morning because of extremely hot weather.
Ellis said in a release that heat index values around Henderson, Ky., are forecast to rise as high as 109 degrees Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The weekend cards will begin at 10 a.m. Central, while Monday’s will start at 11:50.
All three programs were assembled several days ago, and the Friday card will be run Monday as it was drawn.
