Eldon's Prince six-length winner of Proud Man Stakes

Eldon’s Prince became the fifth turf winner produced by his dam Saturday when he won his maiden in the $75,000 Proud Man Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream Park.
Eldon’s Prince shuttled to a six-length win over pacesetter Winging It in the Proud Man, a mile turf race for 2-year-olds. It was another three-quarters of a length back in third to Fulton Street.
Eldon’s Prince ($6.40) settled off the pace set by Winging It, who took the field through an opening quarter in 24.50 seconds, a half-mile in 48.56, and six furlongs in 1:12.26. Eldon’s Prince advanced three wide on the final turn, came four wide into the stretch and darted home, covering the distance on firm ground in 1:36.79.
Edgard Zayas was aboard for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
Eldon’s Prince is a son of Cairo Prince who races for Gentry Farms. His dam, Cat’s Garden, is a 100 percent producer, with all five of her foals who have started now winners. Eldon’s Prince is from the female family of $3 million earner Silverbulletday.
