El Kabeir retired to Yeaomanstown Stud in Ireland

Grade 2 winner El Kabeir has been retired from racing, and will enter stud for the 2018 breeding season at Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland.

The 5-year-old son of Scat Daddy finished with five wins in 20 starts for earnings of $946,557, highlighted by victories in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes, and the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes and Jerome Stakes. He also placed in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial, Grade 2 Nashua Stakes, and Grade 3 Withers Stakes.

El Kabeir raced for Zayat Stables, starting his career with trainer John Terranova, then running in 2017 for Bill Mott.

“We are delighted to have purchased El Kabeir,” said Gay O’Callaghan, owner of Yeomanstown Stud. “He is an exceptional individual with a race record to match and will offer the European breeder a further chance to avail of the precocious and exciting Scat Daddy bloodlines.”

Bred in Florida by Rustlewood Farm, El Kabeir is the first foal out of the unraced Unbridled’s Song mare Great Venue, whose two foals are both winners. He is from the family of Grade 2 winner Too Much Bling.

A stud fee for El Kabeir’s debut season will come at a later time.
