Eight-time stakes winner Brickyard Ride to stand at stud in 2025

Brickyard Ride, an eight-time stakes winner whose retirement was announced in February, will stand at stud in 2025 at Rancho San Miguel in San Miguel, Calif., according to a statement issued on Thursday.
Brickyard Ride will stand for $4,000.
By the prominent California stallion Clubhouse Ride, Brickyard Ride won 13 of 31 starts and earned $925,477, racing from 2019 to January of this year.
Trained by Craig Lewis for owner and breeder Sonny Pais, Brickyard Ride was in peak form in early 2022, winning four consecutive stakes at Santa Anita, including the Grade 3 Kona Gold Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs, and the Tiznow Stakes for statebreds at a mile.
Brickyard Ride won the 2023 Kona Gold, his lone victory in a seven-race campaign last year that included third-place finishes in two Grade 2 stakes at 1 1/16 miles – the San Diego Handicap at Del Mar in July and the San Antonio Stakes at Santa Anita last December.
A 7-year-old, Brickyard Ride finished second to top California sprinter The Chosen Vron in the California Cup Sprint for statebreds at Santa Anita in his final start on Jan. 13. Brickyard Ride won the Cal Cup Sprint in 2021 and 2022. His most prestigious win was the Grade 2 San Carlos Stakes at Santa Anita in 2021.
