Eight shade 10 seconds at OBS

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Eight 2-year-olds breezed eighth-miles in 9.80 seconds Saturday at the final session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's under-tack preview for the upcoming spring juvenile sale.

That was the fastest time posted for the distance on Saturday at the under-tack show in Ocala, Fla.

The eight were Hip No. 1179, a Werblin-Creative Trickster colt; Hip No. 1077, a Wildcat Heir-Bright Smile filly; Hip No. 1084, a Forest Wildcat-Broke the Code filly; Hip No. 1099, a Peace Rules-Cajun Dawn colt; Hip No. 1102, a Sarava-Camilla colt: Hip No. 1223, a Speightstown-Deb's Charm filly; Hip No. 1268, a More Than Ready-Dream Street colt; and Hip No. 1269, an Alke-Dreamy Dream filly.

The day's fastest quarter-mile time was 20.60 seconds. Hip No. 1050, a Pure Precision-B. J. Telicus filly, and Hip No. 1271, a Dixie Union-Duet gelding, both shared that time.

Hip No. 1229, a Valid Belfast-Dee's Secret Doll colt, had the best time for a three-eighths-mile work, covering the distance in 32.80 seconds.

The auction is set for April 20-23 at the OBS sale complex in Ocala, Fla. Sessions start each day at 10:30 a.m.
