Edwin Gonzalez rides four winners on Thursday
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Jockey Edwin Gonzalez held the hot hand here when racing resumed for the week on Thursday, riding four winners including the impressive maiden breaker Palmach, who bucked the early trend over the new Tapeta course with a wire-to-wire four-length victory for trainer Mark Casse.
Gonzalez completed his four-bagger on Thursday aboard Souper All Star, also for Casse, who was awarded the victory via the disqualification of Sweden in the finale. The win was the seventh from the last dozen mounts for Gonzalez, 29, who began riding locally during the spring-summer meet.
Gonzalez was sidelined for seven weeks due to a hairline fracture in his right leg suffered in a riding mishap on July 3.
