Editor's note

DRF Staff|Oct 30, 2007
Because of an editing error, an article about the Breeders' Cup races misquoted Chad Brown, the longtime assistant to trainer Bobby Frankel who is leaving Frankel to take out his own trainer's license. Frankel did not attend the Breeders' Cup, and Brown saddled three horses for Frankel, including Ginger Punch, winner of the Breeders' Cup Distaff on Saturday.

As filed by the reporter, the article referred to a phone conversation between Brown and Frankel before the races and quoted Brown as saying, "He really didn't say that much about Ginger Punch. I guess he was that confident in her." The editing error changed the quote to say "I guess he wasn't that confident in her" without proper verification of what was actually said.
