Edgeway heading to Keeneland for Madison Stakes

Edgeway, winner of two sprint stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita this year, will face her toughest test since November in the Grade 1 Madison Stakes at Keeneland on April 9.
Trainer John Sadler confirmed in a text message on Monday that the $500,000 Madison for fillies and mares at seven furlongs is an early spring goal for Edgeway, who is owned by Hronis Racing.
Sunday at Santa Anita, Edgeway won the Grade 3 Las Flores Stakes by seven lengths over three rivals without being urged in the final furlong by jockey John Velazquez.
Edgeway was second in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint behind Ce Ce at Del Mar in November, but is unlikely to face that rival at Keeneland. Ce Ce won the Azeri Stakes at Oaklawn Park on Saturday, and is a candidate for the Grade 1 Apple Blossom Handicap there on April 23.
