Edge of Reality snaps losing streak in Turning for Home

Edge of Reality, whose last win on dirt came over a muddy surface in the Grade 3 Smarty Jones Stakes on Labor Day in 2013, caught a similar off-track Saturday and responded with a 3 3/4-length victory in the $75,000 Turning for Home Stakes at Parx Racing.
The 5-year-old Edge of Reality ($11) gave jockey Frankie Pennington his third win of the card when he made a very wide move from fourth on the turn for home and drew clear over a track that was sealed and listed as “good” to snap a seven-race losing streak. His last victory came on turf at Parx in the Alphabet Soup for Pennsylvania-breds.
Trained by Graham Motion for The Elkstone Group, Edge of Reality was second in the Santana Mile on dirt at Santa Anita in March, but was subsequently sixth as the 5-2 favorite in the Grade 3 San Francisco Mile on turf at Golden Gate Fields and a distant sixth in the Mountainview Handicap on the main track at Penn National.
In winning for the seventh time in 23 starts, Edge of Reality covered a mile and 70 yards in 1:43.58. Adirondack King, the lukewarm favorite at 7-2, got second by a head over 9-1 longshot Grasshoppin.
