Eddery gets mount on Golan

Kieren Fallon lost his appeal to have a three-day suspension overturned on Tuesday. As a result, he has lost the ride on Epsom Derby co-favorite Golan in the June 9 running. Pat Eddery will replace Fallon on Golan, the Michael Stoute-trained winner of the 2000 Guineas. Fallon, meanwhile will sit out the $1.41 million classic for having been found guilty of irresponsible riding in a $6,500 race at Ayr.

John Murtagh has picked up the ride on Stoute's second runner, Dilshaan, while Frankie Dettori will be aboard Tobougg, Godolphin's Derby representative. Aidan O'Brien has named two to run, but only the co-favored Galileo, the mount of Michael Kinane, is likely to start.
