Ebo prevails in CTBA Derby

Ebo made a successful transition to two turns on Saturday, leading throughout for a 1 1/2-length win in the $45,000 Colorado Thoroughbred Breeders Association Derby at Arapahoe Park. Dewey finished second, a length clear of third-place finisher C C Express.
The CTBA was a 1 1/16-mile race restricted to 3-year-olds bred in Colorado.
Ebo ($17.80), stretching out from a maiden win at 5 1/2 furlongs, led throughout. He set fractions of 24.01 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.11 for the half-mile, and 1:13.43 for six furlongs. He went on to cover the distance on a track rated fast in 1:50.64.
