BALTIMORE - After roughly $150,000 was bet locally into the win pool during preliminary Preakness wagering Friday, Barbaro was the 1-2 favorite in the 131st running of the Pimlico classic, according to track officials. Brother Derek was the 7-2 second choice, followed by Sweetnorthernsaint at 7-1.
Barbaro also would end the lowest payoff in the Pimlico Special/Preakness daily double, at $25.00 for every $2 wager. Invasor won the Special at a $15.40 mutuel.
