Dynamic Pricing catches Modarosa in Forever Together

Chelsea Durand Dynamic Pricing returned $5.80 in winning the Forever Together at Belmont Park on Sunday.

ELMONT, N.Y. - Dynamic Pricing found her best stride later than expected, but it was in time to run by the upset-minded pacesetter Modarosa to win Sunday’s $175,000 Forever Together Stakes by a neck at soggy Belmont Park.

Rain that began in late morning and gained intensity throughout the afternoon prompted New York Racing Association officials to transfer four of the five scheduled turf races to Belmont's newly installed Tapeta track. The Forever Together remained on the Widener turf course, which was listed as “good.”

A turf course with moisture in it was something Dynamic Pricing had previously shown an affinity for, having won the Grade 1 Just a Game in 2025 over yielding Saratoga turf.

Originally carded with seven, the Forever Together scratched down to five with both Ozara and Oversubscribed, the latter having won last year’s Forever Together, being scratched presumably due to the ground.

Modarosa, under Kendrick Carmouche, was able to set an easy pace while maintaining a clear advantage through a half-mile in 50.12 seconds and six furlongs in 1:13.47, while chased by Ashikidah.

Meanwhile, Dynamic Pricing didn’t seem to be making headway until Franco tipped her out turning into the stretch. Just above the eighth pole, Dynamic Pricing picked up the pace and was able to reel in Modarosa in deep stretch.

“At the three-eighths she kind of spit the bit a little bit, so I had to [get after her] to get into the bridle again,” Franco said. “I knew the ground wouldn’t bother her, she won on it before, just the horse on the lead kept on going because it was a slow pace. When I tipped out on the outside, she started getting into the rhythm and the ground and I said I’m going to get there.”

Dynamic Pricing, a 5-year-old daughter of Night of Thunder owned by Seth Klarman’s Klaravich Stables and trained by Chad Brown, covered the 1 1/16-miles in 1:43.00 and returned $5.80 as the second choice.

The victory was one of four on the day for Franco and seventh from 15 mounts during the two days he rode here during the opening three days of the new Belmont Park.

Modarosa, a 12-1 shot, held second by 1 1/2 lengths over even-money favorite Destino d’Oro, who got third by a neck over Table Flirt. Ashikidah finished last.

Kendrick Carmouche said he rode Modarosa per trainer Riley Mott’s instructions and was simply second-best on the day.

“Every pole was a winning one, but the last one, the horse ran great, no excuse.... the best horse ran me down today,” Carmouche said. “Riley Mott put her in the right spot, he said use her speed, I used her speed, I thought I went slow enough, I should have went slower.”
